KADINA

Kadina Auxiliary began in 1956 and currently has 43 members who contribute in different ways based on their time and capacity. The group meets four times a year, with two designated ‘biscuit meetings’. This intriguing name means that members bring home made biscuits which are weighed, bagged and sold in the town after the meeting. Despite producing up to 180 bags, auxiliary members have no difficulty in finding ‘homes’ for their biscuits!

Cooking skills are not a pre-requisite to joining the Auxiliary. Other fundraising activities include badge days, movie mornings at the local cinema, managing the mothers’ and children’s room at Field Days and helping out at local small social events. Kadina Auxiliary members enjoy knowing that their work supports the health of women and children in South Australia.
