Welcome to the Friends of the Women’s and Children’s Hospital Inc
The Friends of the Women’s and Children’s Hospital.
For more than a century, the Friends of the Women's and Children's Hospital has proudly supported South Australian families by raising funds for essential medical equipment, programs and services that enhance patient care at the Women's and Children's Hospital.
As a not-for-profit charity, we are committed to improving the hospital experience for children, women and families through the generosity of our volunteers, members, donors and supporters.
What makes us different is that every cent donated goes directly towards purchasing vital medical equipment and resources that benefit patients and families receiving care through the Women's and Children's Health Network (WCHN).
Through the Rainbow Shop and Vics Cafe, community fundraising, events, and the dedication of our volunteers, we continue to make a meaningful difference to the health, wellbeing and comfort of South Australian families when they need it most.
Make a difference.
Over the last 28 years the Friends of the Women’s & Children’s Hospital Charity has raised and donated over 17 million dollars to the Women’s & Children’s Hospital.
The Friends continue to provide a valuable link between the Women’s and Children’s Health Network and the South Australian community.
Lifesaving Equipment
Funds raised from each of the Auxiliaries goes towards much needed extra equipment for the hospital.
The consultative and decision making process for deciding what types of equipment are needed each year is done between Friends and the various hospital departments. Fundraising goals are established if there are some specific larger items that are needed.
Volunteers are Our Lifeblood
The Friends are made up of our incredible volunteers who give up their time each week or month to help out. The commitment and dedication of the members, volunteers and staff of the Friends is evident in the ongoing success of the organisation to support the work of the hospital in caring for the women, children and young people of South Australia.
We cannot do what we do without them.
Support Through Auxiliaries
Operating since 1993, we now have around 700 members from all regions of South Australia who volunteer their time and resources.
If you are interested in joining one of our Auxiliary Committees they would love to welcome you to the Friends Family.
