Once again this amazing group of dedicated volunteers, family members and generous donors hosted a successful fundraiser.  On Sunday 25th February, around 450 supporters came out for the Queen Victoria Auxiliary, 'Finding Your Feet', Film night.

The projected target of $9,000 was reached and the following items will be ordered for the Women’s and Babies’ Division at the hospital.

Five Obstetric Doppler's
These are used to detect a foetal heart beat and measure heart rate in utero, an essential diagnostic tool for clinicians and very re-assuring for mums-to-be.  They are used widely throughout the delivery suite along with clinics and wards

Two Infant Incubator Scales
The weighing of infants on a regular basis is a critical part of their care and clinical management. With the current need to remove them from an incubator  to an external set of scales, weighing infants  can be a challenging and disruptive process. Technology has become available to fit scales inside the incubator so that weight can be measured at any time at the push of a button. The WCH Neonatal Intensive Care Unit wish to install these to a number of incubators in which they manage their most challenged babies.

One Infusion Pump Docking Station
These are used to deliver a precise dose of drugs and/or fluids in a very controlled manner.  Many of the babies treated at the hospital will often need multiple pumps to deliver the fluids required simultaneously. In these circumstances a “docking station” can be used to manage the pumps most effectively, giving staff ready and immediate access to the pump controls and allowing the IV lines to be more safely managed.

Thank you the WCH Executive team, hospital staff and friends who supported the event.

The success of this event would not have been possible without the amazing support from the Queen Victoria Auxiliary major sponsor Angove Family Winemakers. Victoria and her family provided outstanding support on the night, donating all the wine, several raffle prizes and also worked tirelessly setting up the wine station and serving throughout the night.

Thank you to Steve Virgo, Kensington Regal Theatre and the O’Riley family

Friends would also like to make a special mention to all those family members of the committee who provided great support.

Thank you to all involved and to all that attended, your continued support is greatly appreciated.

Congratulations to Mary, all the committee and family members of the Queen Victoria Auxiliary.
