April 18th marked a significant date for The Friends of the Women’s and Children’s Hospital Incorporated (Friends) with the first major piece of equipment being handed over as part of the new process for acknowledging the contribution the Friends make to Women’s and Children’s Health Network. The Friends Council members presented a new Portable Ultrasound Machine to Naomi Dwyer, CEO.

The Council and WCH would like to thank all our hard working members throughout the state and the Friends shops volunteers based at the hospital for making this possible. This $80,000 machine ($20,000 from the Queen Victoria Auxiliary and $30,000 from each of the Shops and Auxiliaries Divisions) will enable medical staff to provide on the spot scanning for women using the latest scanning technologies in the Women’s Outpatients Services of WCH.
