Welcome to our New Patron

Pauline Linke, President of the Friends of the Women’s & Children’s Hospital Incorporated, announced Associate Professor Ross Haslam as their new Patron at the 2015 State Conference.

Associate Professor Haslam was the head of the Neonatal Department at the Queen Victoria Hospital and then the Women’s and Children’s Hospital from 1979 to 2011. In 2012 he was made an Officer of the Order of Australia for his work in the field of perinatal and neonatal medicine.

Currently he is Chair of the Australian and New Zealand Neonatal Network, a member of the inaugural board of the Australian Clinical Trials Alliance and on the executive board of the Perinatal Society of Australia and New Zealand’s Clinical Trials Group.

Approximately 130 members of Friends from around the state attended the conference, during which eleven members were awarded life membership for their outstanding contribution to the Friends. In the last financial year the Friends donated over $521,000 to the Women’s and Children’s Health Network.
