Friends Members Spreading The Joy Of Christmas

This year, thanks to members of the Greenock and Ceduna Auxiliaries a total of $320 was donated ($220 from Greenock and $100 Ceduna). Toys pictured below were purchased and delivered to very grateful children on Christmas day. 

Generous Friends members around the state have previously raised funds to purchase toys for children in hospital over Christmas. In the past, toys were purchased by the members and wrapped and delivered to the hospital. This was challenging for staff who did not know who the toy was best suited to. This led to staff unwrapping and then re-wrapping the toys when the appropriate recipient was identified.

This year, the funds raised were deposited directly into the Friends account, so the toys could be purchased from the Friends Volunteer shop at the hospital. Not only does this support the shop, it also allows staff to select toys which best fill any gaps from other toy donations.
