Australia Day Award for a Friend

Registered nurse and Friends volunteer, Amanda Carter was recently awarded Lucindale Citizen of the Year. Amanda is also a member of Red Cross, Linc (the town development association) and works on the Lucindale Newsletter. A mother of 4 young boys who supports all of their activities, she is involved with fundraising for the school and for residents affected by the recent fires. She kept her family safe while the fire went around their home, then went to the town hall to check on the 100 people who had evacuated. She followed up with organising a thankyou to the firefighters from local children. Amanda puts her heart and soul into everything, and her Lucindale Friends are so proud of this young lady.
