Kadina Auxiliary: Run Walk or Cycle Fundraiser

On a bright and sunny Sunday morning in March, the Kadina Auxiliary Friends of the Women's and Children's Hospital brought the community together for a day filled with energy, connection, and fun!

More than 120 people, ranging from children on bikes to seasoned runners, gathered to walk, run, or cycle the scenic trail between Kadina and Wallaroo. Laughter echoed along the track, with some participants even dressing up for the occasion. Smiles were shared between participants, and a real sense of camaraderie made the morning truly special.

The Seaside Cyclists were the first to set off, with their impressive tri-shaw drawing plenty of attention and sparking conversations along the way. Hayley and Melissa, two six-year-old girls, were lucky passengers. Both have family members who have been cared for by the Women's and Children's Hospital, and their parents or grandparents actively involved in fundraising efforts for the hospital, making their ride even more meaningful.

The finish line led everyone to the Wallaroo Adventure Playground, where a sausage sizzle and cold drinks awaited, as well as plenty of friendly chatter. Children raced off to enjoy the playground and sports equipment, while families and friends relaxed and caught up finding shade from the sun. A raffle was also drawn, with some great prizes donated from local businesses and community members.

The morning was more than a fundraiser, the day was a great representation of community spirit, raising vital funds and shining a light on the important work of the Friends of the Women’s and Children’s charity does.

The Kadina Auxiliary were thrilled to have the support of so many local businesses, community groups and individuals, who donated prizes, helped spread the word, provided equipment, and lent a helping hand on the day. A huge thank you to the District Council of the Copper Coast, Kadina Apex Club, Copper Grounds Coffee Van, Park Run Kadina.

Kadina Auxiliary members as well as every volunteer who made the event possible and each participant for making the event a success. Just over $2000 was raised
