Friends Facilitate Donation to Midwifery Group Practice

The Friends were extremely pleased to receive and facilitate a $1,500 donation from parents Cassie and Will. Following their experience with the birth of their son Thomas, Cassie and Will donated $1,500 to support the Midwifery Group Practice (MGP).

The Friends facilitate donations for donors who prefer to choose where their donation is being spent. This wonderful contribution allowed the purchase of two Comfortable Upright Birthing supports. Designed for upright births these supports reduce time in labour or the need for epidurals reducing the likelihood of medical assistance.

Sometimes known as 'Caseload Midwifery', MGP enables women to be cared for by the same midwife (primary midwife) supported by a small group of midwives throughout their pregnancy, during childbirth and in the early weeks at home with a new baby. Please see the MGP service for more information.
