Friends President Finalist of the Joy Noble Award

Pauline Linke, President Friends of WCH was honoured on 6 June 2022 as a finalist of the Joy Noble Award.  The Joy Noble Award is considered the highest honour of volunteering service in South Australia.

Pauline has been instrumental in leading Friends of WCHN, with her involvement of 40 years and being President for 15 years.

With her exceptional leadership skills she leads a team of 2.5 FTE’s and around 500 volunteer members.

The work of Pauline and her team embodies the CREATE values of the Women’s and Children’s Health Network.

Although unable to enjoy the festivities in person her award was accepted by her son, Darren and daughter Chantal with Phil Robinson, Executive Director of Corporate Services, WCHN.

Pauline’s reflection is “I would like to thank the amazing team that I work with Phil Robinson - Executive Director Corporate Services WCHN, Di Smith-McCue - Director Consumer and Community Engagement WCHN, Andrew Wade – Business Manager Friends WCHN, Sonia Davies – Coordinator Friends WCHN, Rae Plush – Project Manager Consumer and Community Engagement WCHN, Jenny Fereday – Executive Director Nursing and Midwifery Adjunct Associate Professor WCHN and all Council and Friends members. It has been an honour to work for this wonderful Hospital over the past 40+ years.  Being an empathetic and caring person by nature, it just seems natural to nurture and help others.

‘I just do it’ I guess I see a need and address it.  In my local community, I also work in a voluntary capacity with some great people, who are very supportive.  This has been a thought provoking and humbling experience for me.  This would not have been possible without the support and encouragement from my amazing family.

Thankyou!  Pauline

Over the years the Friends of the Women’s & Children’s Hospital (WCH)  has raised and donated over 17 million dollars to the Women’s & Children’s Hospital.
