A Lip Smacking Thank you to Target Reynella, from Friends!

The Friends, staff and patients of the Women’s and Children’s Hospital shout out a big ‘Thank You’ to Target Reynella, for their very generous donation of Lip Smackers. 

Kirstine Warneford, Equipment Nurse Manager, Surgical Services WCHN reached out to Friends advising the Lip Smacker product could no longer be sourced through the WCHN procurement process.  

Kirstine explained ‘When patients are given a general anaesthetic, a mask is placed over the nose to disperse oxygen whilst gradually adding anaesthetic gas agents to put the patient to sleep. The gases are pungent and irritating. The Lip Smacker product applied to the inside of the mask provides a distracting and pleasant smell. Alternative brands had been sourced but were not as effective as the Lip Smacker product.

Friends reached out to Target Reynella who kindly donated a large supply of Lip Smackers. The Friends are extremely pleased to be able to facilitate these individual requests from hospital staff whilst embracing the support of local businesses.
