Friends Shops Volunteers Make a Difference
The Women’s and Children’s Health Network (WCHN) annually fund a Christmas Lunch to acknowledge and thank the Friends Shops Volunteers for their outstanding service given to Rainbows and Vic’s Coffee Shop on site at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital.
QVA Devonshire Tea
The Friends Queen Victoria Auxiliary committee hosted a Devonshire tea at the Mount Osmond Golf Club, on Monday 23rd October 2023. Members and supporters were thrilled to have ‘Her Excellency the Honourable Frances Adamson AC Governor of South Australia as the Guest Speaker’.
Fashion Cup Event at Riverton
The Friends Tarlee/Stockport Auxiliary group held their very successful Melbourne Cup luncheon at the Hotel Central Riverton for the fourth year running. Hotel hosts Harry, Adam and Jasmin opened their doors to 60 people for an afternoon of sweeps, raffles and fashion parade kindly provided by the Riverton Boutique ‘Sassy Lass’. Chef Matthew Mitchell did not disappoint with a superb lunch menu.

The Friends, staff and patients of the Women’s and Children’s Hospital shout out a big ‘Thank You’ to Target Reynella, for their very generous donation of Lip Smackers.
Kirstine Warneford, Equipment Nurse Manager, Surgical Services WCHN reached out to Friends advising the Lip Smacker product could no longer be sourced through the WCHN procurement process.
A successful Quiz night hosted by the Kadina Auxiliary Division
The Friends of the WCH, Kadina Auxiliary group recently hosted 120 community members for an entertaining Quiz night. The event was held at the local Community Sports Club, on Saturday 22nd October.
Attendees enjoyed testing their trivia knowledge, sharing supper amongst friends, and participating in an assortment of games. The evening included a raffle and auction which were strongly supported by local business in the community, whom generously donated an assortment of items and experiences.
Edgehill Farm Stays Supports WCH Renal Unit
Friends teamed up with Edgehill Farm Stays to raise funds for the Renal Unit at the WCH earlier this year to help support families and take some stress away during the difficult times.
They were able to donate a generous $925 🎉 A huge thank you to Edgehill Farm Stays and the families who donated this farm stay season.
60 Years Meningie Auxiliary
Meningie's Auxiliary of Friends Women's and Children's Hospital celebrated their sixtieth anniversary at Freshie's Café and Bar. Around thirty people joined the group to celebrate six decades of raising funds for the Women's & Children's Hospital.
Region 6 Auxiliaries 58th Annual Conference
Members of The Friends of Women’s and Children’s Hospital Inc (Friends) Region 6 Auxiliaries Division, recently held their 58th Annual Conference at Ruston’s Restaurant & Functions in Renmark. The region comprises of the Renmark and Berri Auxiliaries with 25 active members who have raised $202,840 for the hospital over 60 years of fund raising.
Australian Professional Firefighters Donation
The first donation for this financial year from the Australian Professional Firefighters Foundation (APFF) was completed with all selected items recently handover to the hospital.
New Brand and Website Launch
It has been an exciting journey for members and staff of the Friends working on the design of the new website and branding. After months of working together, identifying the best way to demonstrate how the Friends brand would connect with the Women’s and Children’s Hospital and the broader community. The day has finally come.
