Fashion Cup Event at Riverton

The Friends Tarlee/Stockport Auxiliary group held their very successful Melbourne Cup luncheon at the Hotel Central Riverton for the fourth year running. Hotel hosts Harry, Adam and Jasmin opened their doors to 60 people for an afternoon of sweeps, raffles and fashion parade kindly provided by the Riverton Boutique ‘Sassy Lass’. Chef Matthew Mitchell did not disappoint with a superb lunch menu.

The committee were once again delighted to facilitate this event with the auxiliary raising just over $2400 which will be used to purchase equipment items for the Women’s and Children’s Health Network.  Country families are extremely grateful for the services provided by the Women’s and Children’s Hospital. The small and passionate group understand the value in raising these funds.

The group were overwhelmed with the support from local business. Bronwyn from Sassy Lass in Riverton, was very generous donating prizes for best headwear and best dressed including seasonally dressed mannequins for display and ‘sassy’ clothing modelled by very obliging volunteers.

A huge thank you to the following businesses Sassy Lass Boutique, Hotel Central, Emporium Café, Quercus, Kristin Griffiths, Ollie Parker and Gilli for their support including wineries Claymores, Greg Cooley, Taylors, Skillogalee, O’Leary Walker, Wines By KT, Paulett, Pikes, Ulster Park and Eldredge for donating to the wine wall.

Janine Callery was voted as ‘Best Dressed’ with runner up Sue from Gawler. Best headwear, winner was Jo Mullan. Many sweeps were sold throughout the luncheon with patrons collecting winnings from their horses including the Tarlee/Stockport raffle which was drawn in the afternoon. The committee were grateful and thanked everyone who attended. It was a fabulous day out raising money for a great cause.
