A dedicated group of students from Holdfast Partnership SRC combine to support the Women's and Children's Hospital (WCH). The five schools within the partnership include Glenelg, Warradale, St Leonards, Brighton and Paringa Park Primary Schools

As recorded in the groups June meeting notes

“The group made a decision that we would like the primary schools of the Holdfast Partnership to come together to do an act of kindness to support our local community.  Many different ideas were discussed but we came to the decision that we all, at some time in our lives, need the services of the Women and Children’s Hospital and we would like to make the conditions better for sick kids.”

The students decided to have a Casual Day setting a target of $3000, however this was far exceeded with the total amount of $3500 being raised. The group selected The Friends of the Women's and Children's hospital Inc (Friends) to facilitate this very generous donation.

The SRC Partnership group were provided with a list of items the play therapist selected for the wards and outpatient departments within the WCH. As a result of the amount raised the Friends were able to purchase all the items listed. This was an outstanding achievement and one that has been warmly received by Marisa (Senior Hospital Play Therapist) and her team. Marisa stated that these items are highly valued buy the hospital consumers and staff.Student representatives from the schools including Madalen, Billy, Giselle, Leah and Sean presented the gifts to hospital consumers Chase and Huy. The items which include 7 x DVD players, 1 x TV, 2 x PlayStation Consoles, 2 x PlayStation Controllers 2 x 3DS Nintendo Consoles, 7 x PlayStation games and 36 DVD’s were presented on the 6th December just in time for Christmas.

The Friends and the WCH would like to sincerely thank all the students and teachers from the five schools that helped raised this amazing total. If you would like to raise money for the hospital or make a tax deductible donation please click here
