Friends Shops Volunteers Make a Difference

The Women’s and Children’s Health Network (WCHN) annually fund a Christmas Lunch to acknowledge and thank the Friends Shops Volunteers for their outstanding service given to Rainbows and Vic’s Coffee Shop on site at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

The day is celebrated at the Adelaide Royal Coach Hotel in fine style with delicious food and excellent raffle prizes. A big thank you to our shops suppliers Balfours, Unique Bakery, PFD Foods, Complete Café Services and Coca-Cola Europacific Partners who kindly donated the wonderful gifts.

Santa made a surprise visit to handout the great prizes to our valued volunteers. The luncheon is a great opportunity for Friends Volunteers to relax and engage with those they have volunteered with throughout the year.

Shops President, Dorothy Sandland presented the shops division first half of the 2023/24 financial year contribution. An amazing $200,000.00 cheque donation was presented to Friends President Pauline Linke. An exceptional amount despite the continuing ever-changing conditions and challenges faced.

Phil Robinson Executive Director, Corporate Services, WCHN thanked our dedicated volunteers for their wonderful contribution. Friends Shops President Dorothy Sandland also thanked the Friends volunteers declaring them as ‘The Heroes’ and to have a safe and enjoyable Christmas.

The Friends of the WCH Inc. (Friends) thank the Adelaide Royal Coach Hotel for their ongoing generosity providing their venue for all Friends meetings at no charge. This in-kind support equates to $2,200.00 annually. Thank you from Friends!
