The Shops Auxiliary Division of The Friends of Women’s and Children’s Hospital recently celebrated their 90 year anniversary of providing a kiosk service to the hospital.

The Passion Projects initiative was launched in September 2016 during Person and Family Centred Care Week as a direct response to consumer feedback.

The initiative referred to as HUG (Helping You Give) will spread the happiness to families in the Women’s and Children’s Hospital by surprising some families with one of three types of vouchers.

Committee members from the Queen Victoria Auxiliaries Division presented a new Resuscitation Cot to the Neo-Natal Unit of the Women’s and Babies Division.

This year the Shops Auxiliary Division at the WCH celebrate their 90th birthday – what an amazing achievement! Over the decades, auxiliary services have continued and expanded enormously.

The 2017/18 Entertainment Membership is now available! When you purchase from The Friends of WCH, $14 from each membership sold will go towards the recently launched fundraising campaign.

In the months past, some very generous community-led fundraisers have chosen to support The Friends of the Women’s and Children’s Hospital with their various stalls, sausage sizzles and garage sales.

The Friends of The Women’s and Children’s Hospital were pleased to facilitate a recent donation from Matt Ellis of $1067. Matt raised over $2000 by shaving his head at Woodcroft College thanks to the support of the children and teachers.

Approximately 240 children per year from around South Australia attend the Orthotics Department at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital for the manufacture of custom-made orthoses and prostheses.
